‘Atlas: The Story of Pa Salt’, by Harry Whittaker & Lucinda Riley (The Seven Sisters # 8)

Rating: 5 out of 5.

Fans of The Seven Sisters series were eager to get copies of this finale when it was recently released, not only because it would reveal all of the remaining secrets about the mysterious Pa Salt, but also because the author died after The Missing Sister was published. The final epic book was now in the hands of her son Harry Whittaker and we were wondering how that would turn out!

I cannot imagine how hard it must have been for him to take his mother’s notes and write the final book so soon after her passing, especially with high expectations from readers and many fans waiting nervously!

Well done Harry Whittaker! How proud she would be of you and how wonderful that you were able to do such a good job of this! It truly was the backstory we were all waiting for and is a satisfying conclusion to the series.

As always in this series, the story alternates between two narratives, one historic and the other present day. In this case, one narrative was diary entries from Pa Salt as a young boy and of his later travels, and the other was the seven sisters gathered together on the Titan to say goodbye to their beloved enigmatic father. A lot was revealed and explained in this book. There had been hints about Pa Salt’s life in all of the books about the sisters that were so cleverly disguised I never noticed them. Riley’s genius in plotting this series is now very evident. There is a TV series in the works based on the books, which we can look forward to now!

If you are new to Lucinda Riley and her series The Seven Sisters, it starts with the book by that name. Each consecutive book provides the backstory of another sister and this final book reveals how Pa Salt came to adopt his daughters from many different corners of the globe.
